A Golfing Resort for the Services

Taylor Made Golf Clubs

In these times, we are more privy to the service of our women and men in the army. We are able to all agree that they merit each kind of consideration from the fundamentals to the most lavish, like, say a golfing resort.

Yes, if only we could give them a golfing resort completely for the employment of active-duty and retired military staff and the Coast Guard, and current members of the Reserve, National Guard and the civilian workers of the Dept of Defense. While we are dreaming, why don’t you have it designed like a Walt Disney luxury resort and put it next to the Sorcery Dominion itself with occasions to visit the theme parks?

That would be the description of the Shades of Green golf resort at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. It was originally part of the park and named The Golf Resort, then expanded to include guest rooms in 1986 and renamed The Disney Inn. It was leased beginning in 1994 by the U.S. Department of Defense then purchased early in 1996 as part of its Morale, Welfare and Recreation program.

A Wish on a Star

The Shades of Green Golfing Resort is in the luxury class with 586 guest rooms, a fitness center, colonnade, lighted tennis courts, 2 heated swimming pools, a pool for youngsters, and washing facilities. The dining facilities are also what you would expect of a luxury golfing resort. It includes an Italian cafe called Mangino’s, a sports bar named Evergreen’s, a break bar with extended hours, a ’50′s style ice cream parlor named America, a family style smorgasboard called The Garden Studio . A break / sandwich stand poolside and the Express Caf.

GOLF INSTRUCTIONS for CHIPPING

One of the shortest shots in golf is one that requires the most authority. Golf instruction chipping without authority can be thin, fat or even shanked shots. Whatever can go wrong usually will. However hit your chip shots with authority and chances are you’ll be tapping in for your next.

Fear, indecision, lack of strength lead to a lack of authority, which in turn leads to poor chipping. Think about your golfclub like a horse.(i know but stay with me here) confidence plays a big part, it has a knack of ‘knowing’ what’s going on and plays up. Far more satisfactory results are achieved if you show it who is boss, who is in charge.

To ensure authority, the best way is by repetition. Add that with these two strength drills (below) and bring some authority back to your short game.
First Drill- Hold your club horizontally out in front of your body, then cock the wrists. It’s a simple exercise but, like Drill 2, repeat for 10 repetitions, build up gradually and get some strength and flexibility into those wrists.

Second Drill; Hold your arms outstretched with a weight, anything weighing about a pound or so, hand weights are good, and lift up and down with your wrists.

Wrist Strength
Hitting a shot with any authority can be hard if the golfclub feels heavy in your hand. A good chip is a firm wristed action, the wrist has to secure the golfclub to ensure that you are in control of the swing. Weak wrists are a problem for many beginning women players, but it doesn’t hurt for all golfers to spend some time with these drills.

Golfing Handicap Systems

Sun Mountain Golf Bags

For beginner competition play, golfers usually receive a golfing handicap based totally on the last 10 scores they received adjusted for the issue of the courses, to paraphrase, the USGA Handicapping System. This works very well for contests that attract beginners who play frequently but what about smaller competitions for golfers who don’t play regularly enough to be accurately handicapped in the common way? There are many systems that address this query.

The second choice System

The USGA has approved a system that is called the “Second Best Score System” or the “Second Best Handicap.” This doesn’t mean that the system is second best, but that the second best score sets the player’s golf handicap.

The player provides his 3 best scores from the year in rounds played on regulation courses with a par of 68 or more. The council mixes them with any scores from prior competitions and selects the second best score minus seventy for men and 73 for ladies as the handicap for the existing competition.

For new players who can only supply a single score, the system takes away 74 strokes for a person and 77 for a girl to get the golfing handicap. And anyway, a score for a 9-hole round is doubled first.

The Peoria System

A golfing handicap doesn’t need to be set previous to the competition. Using the Peoria System means giving the players their handicaps according to how they play in the tournament. The committee anonymously selects 6 holes before the playing starts.
