Cabo San Lucas – a Golfer’s Paradise
One thing Cabo San Lucas is very famous for are its championship golf courses. In fact, Los Cabos was popularly called Mexico’s Golf Riviera.
The city had its 1st championship golf course in 1990 at Palmilla. Since then, it has gone non-stop with its construction of high end world famous golf courses now numbering in six exceptional ones.
Los Cabos is proud to have its first golf course designed by the famous ‘golfer of the century’ Jack Niclaus. He designed it after being commissioned by the successful developer and golf enthusiast, Don Koll.
Having their first golf course in the area gave Los Cabos an extraordinary success that leads to the making of many other golf courses. Jack Niclaus also had the chance to design a couple of golf courses more for Los Cabos after the first one in Palmilla.
The golf courses in Cabo were all built great, but Golf Cabo del Sol Desert Course grabbed the title of being the best in Cabo. This great golf course also garnered a spot in Golf Digest’s top ten best golf courses in the world. Other golf courses in Cabo which are not far from being the world’s best are El Dorado, another golf course designed by Jack Niclaus; The Raven and Cabo Real Golf Club which both have 18 holes and the Querencia Golf Courses.
There is also the Golf at the Mayan Country Club which has 9 holes, the Golf Cabo del Sol Ocean Course which is again designed by Jack Niclaus and also ranked as one of the top 10 best courses in the world by the Golf Digest with its 5th and 17th holes ranked by the Golf Magazine as among “The 500 Best Holes in the World.”
Of course, along with their being world-renowned and with their excellent facilities and amenities, these golf courses may be a little expensive. But with these courses designed expertly by golf enthusiasts themselves, you will even be getting more than your money’s worth.
Not only a destination fit for those who love the beach and the sand, Cabo San Lucas has also become a golfer’s destination.
